I thought this was a pay phone until I got up close to it.

Recently I traveled to Vancouver BC Canada. While at the airport, I was walking over to hotel shuttle location, I noticed a pay phone. Surprised by seeing a pay phone, I had to go look at it and was surprised to see what I found.

As I got closer, I noticed that the airport had installed a Cisco 7906 IP Phone. This phone was there to call hotels to let them know they had somebody waiting for the shuttle. This phone was outside in the pay phone cabinet, it was also under a canopy.

I was very surprised that there was nothing else to protect it from the weather. It looks like it has held up pretty good.

What odd places have you seen IP phones?
